After 29 years of leadership, Jenny Murphy-Shifflet is preparing to step down in 2017 from her position as President/CEO of the Sexual Assault Resource and Counseling Center of Lebanon and Schuylkill Counties (SARCC).

The Board of Directors is grateful for the leadership and direction provided by Murphy-Shifflet for almost three decades.  Anthony Miller, President of the Board of Directors said, “Jenny’s passion for our vision and mission will be felt for decades. Her legacy will be carried on through the thousands of men, women, and children who sought SARCC services.”

Under Jenny’s leadership, SARCC evolved from a small nonprofit organization to a leader in service agencies that has been awarded at the state and federal level for the quality and quantity of care given to victims of sexual violence.  She has overseen numerous collaborations that expanded services to victims in legal and medical systems; federal, state and county prisons; drug and alcohol programs; elementary, middle and high schools; colleges and social service organizations.   She developed a strong fundraising base with her board of directors that continues to grow.

In 2003, SARCC partnered with Lebanon Family Health Services in a $1.5 million capital campaign that built the Jeanne Donleavy Arnold building on Cumberland Street in Lebanon.

In 2009, she geographically expanded  SARCC’s services into Schuylkill County by rebuilding a struggling sexual assault program.  SARCC Schuylkill has served approximately 5,000 men, women, and children since it opened in July of 2009.

In 2014, she was the driving force of the development of the Lebanon satellite office of the Children’s Resource Center.  This collaborative project brought together the District Attorney’s Office, Children and Youth Services,  Pinnacle Health Services, and Wellspan  Good Samaritan hospital who embraced this concept.

“Jenny has been instrumental in the development of a talented staff, who provide the highest level of support, advocacy, education and therapy to victims and their families 24/7,” stated Christine Verdier, Search Committee Chair and Vice President of the Board of Directors.

SARCC’s Board of Directors thanks Jenny for her many years of service and accomplishments.  Her role and impact have been outstanding.  The Board is appreciative of Jenny’s willingness to support and assist in the transition for the search, selection, and hiring of a new CEO/President.
